Something funny just happened as I was updating the Teaching Philosophy section of this site. I guess you could say things got a little too…philosophical.
It began as a humble treatise regarding the merits of my teaching style and what prospective students could expect to gain from the wise decision of taking lessons from me. Soon, though, my mind wandered and began to drift off on a bit of a tangent as it has been known to do occasionally. What resulted is a short little something that’s central to my beliefs and values, though it has absolutely nothing to do with teaching. At all.
Still, I thought it was kind of cool, so rather than dispatch it straight to limbo(or wherever it is that deleted characters go) I thought I’d share it with you all. Enjoy.
“Music is a universal truth. Human beings from every corner of the earth make music every day. Most of us don’t receive anything tangible for it. There is no practical purpose or reason for our music, but we make it anyway.”
